87: Exploring Student Experiences with Natalie Chen

Natalie Chen is a ninth grade high school student and was one of my daughter Eliza’s best friends.

Natalie has encountered a variety of educational approaches throughout her academic career so far and she’s here to talk to us about her experiences, her thoughts on the pros and cons of the different styles that she's had and share with us some of the work she’s done to teach young learners a critical life skill.

Join us for this enlightening episode that’s all about amplifying student voices and understanding the experiences and needs of learners.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS:
  • Natalie’s experiences in a project-based elementary school, a private middle school, and a public high school.
  • The pros and cons of each of the schools Natalie attended.
  • Community, collaboration, and parent involvement.
  • Natalie’s vision for the perfect school experience.
  • Why Natalie created a financial literacy curriculum for students.
  • Social media’s effect of modern learners.
