73: 21st Century Education with Yvette Larsson
Yvette Larsson, an international Swede, is passionate about learning and innovation so that we can create a better world together. She uses applied neuroscience, focusing on our human potential and the question: What does it mean to be human in a global age of technology? Her personal story starts 100 kilometers above the Arctic Circle, where she grew up with a lot of freedom and adventure to roam the mountains and the forests of Swedish Lapland. She admits that she was often bored. In hindsight, she has realized that she developed her sense of creativity and entrepreneurial mindset from growing up in a UNESCO protected area with omnipresent nature as her playground. She became an avid reader, traveled in her imagination, explored ideas, and still does. Join us for this conversation about 21st century education, what students want, and what we can do to create a more modern education for learners. IN THIS EPISODE, WE DISCUSS: What does it mean to be a human in the global age of technology. How to balance in-person and digital connection and communication. What is a hackathon and how it’s redesigning education for “glocal” communities. The key message youth want adults to know and how we can best support their need. How Yvette collaborated with others to create a successful well-being program at her school. Yvette’s journey with co-founding AHA to develop learning experiences for the 21st century.
